• Conducting crash simulations, carrying out robustness analysis in Crashworthiness.
• Simulated around 150 different material and geometric combinations of automotive parts joined by resistance welding to derive the strengths in different crash simulation loading scenarios with 96% accuracy as a researcher in Crashworthiness. • Successfully automized the whole process of simulation, derivation of stiffness, analyses, optimization and comparison with experiments to optimize the prediction quality of the FE model.

• Using Python scripts in Abaqus, I designed and constructed 3 and 5 way crossing stiffeners of an aircraft fuselage, conducted material analysis and optimized meshing, which are currently being used by Airbus in Stade for research purposes. Optimized them to include complex cross section geometry and non-uniform geometry as well with a smooth and continuous cross section.
• Building non-linear projection based Reduced Order Models (ROMs) with the help of an autoencoder for the non linear mapping resulting in significantly lower simulation time without losing accuracy to optimize and accelerate crash simulations of automotive parts.

• Identified and optimized parameters such as laser power, beam size and vector path, that impact the additive manufacturing process which reduced code run time by up to 70%. Subsequently expanded the code to include new functions and shapes such as circles, squares and triangles to 3D print, created a prototype to print via .STL for any arbitrary shape, hence increasing the scope of the project.

Modelling of Crack Initiation and Propagation in Fiber-Reinforced Composites (FRCs) using eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM). Main tasks: Manufacturing of FRC specimens, conducting experiments on them, carrying out simulations in ABAQUS via python scripting. Evaluation of results was complex due to many different factors involved such as unidirectional fibers, transversal isotropy, XFEM and local material orientation but the results of simulation were good and error percentage was approx. 5%
